BASIC CHROME SULPHATE
Basic Chrome Sulphate is the most important ingredient used in the tanning of leather. It is manufactured from the simple reduction of Cr (VI) to Cr (III) by the addition of an excess of sulphur dioxide: Na2Cr2O7 + 3SO2 + H2O → Cr2(SO4)2(OH)2 + Na2SO4
This reaction is carried out in a steam-heated vessel, and then the excess SO2 is removed
in a second reaction tower. Finally, the liquid product is spray-dried to form a powder
which is then bagged and sold.
As dichromate is a highly poisonous compound, all emissions from the plant are closely
monitored and all sump water is recycled and the chromium within it reused.

Bitumen
Bitumen is a mixture of organic liquids that are highly viscous, black, sticky, entirely soluble in carbon disulfide, and composed primarily of highly condensed polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

Naturally occurring or crude bitumen is a sticky, tar-like form of petroleum which is so thick and heavy that it must be heated or diluted before it will flow. At room temperature, it is much like cold molasses. Refined bitumen is the residual (bottom) fraction obtained by fractional distillation of crude oil. It is the heaviest fraction and the one with the highest boiling point, boiling at 525 °C (977 °F).

Citric acid is a weak organic acid. It is a natural preservative and is also used to add an acidic, or sour, taste to foods and soft drinks. In biochemistry, it is important as an intermediate in the citric acid cycle and therefore occurs in the metabolism of almost all living things. It also serves as an environmentally benign cleaning agent and acts as an antioxidant.
Citric acid exists in a variety of fruits and vegetables, most notably citrus fruits. Lemons and limes have particularly high concentrations of the acid; it can comprise as much as 8% of the dry weight of these fruits (1.44 and 1.38 grams per ounce of the juices, respectively).

Glycerine
Glycerol is a chemical compound also commonly called glycerin or glycerine. It is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid that is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations. Glycerol is a sugar alcohol, and is sweet-tasting and of low toxicity. Glycerol has three hydrophilic alcoholic hydroxyl groups that are responsible for its solubility in water and its hygroscopic nature. Special Properties of Gum Rosin: Natural organic compound, mainly composed of resins, possesses chemical activity when dissolved in many organic solvents.
Uses of Gum Rosin: At present, most rosin product is used for the manufacturing of paper, paint, soap and printing ink. Since rosin is easily softened and oxidized, in the oil paint industry, the carboxylation reaction of resin acid is usually employed to produce resinate for further use. While in the producing of synthetic rubber and printing ink, resin acid is changed into disproportionate rosin, polymerized rosin, hydrogenated rosin, etc for further use by its double bond reaction.

Synthetic Petroleum Resin
Synthetic petroleum resin is a product of thermal copolymerization of C9 fraction liquid pyrolysis products. Grade A is used for production of varnish, construction paints and as a film-forming agent.
